Frequently Asked Questions
Beds, meals, transfers, staff and what is included: the things guests ask before they book.
The House
Beds, space and how many of you it will take.

How many bedrooms does Villa Takali have, and how many can it sleep?
Five suites. Four have a super king bed sleeping two, and the Centre Suite’s king converts to twins if you prefer. The fifth is the Teenagers’ Suite, sleeping six in four bunks and a trundle sofa bed. Fourteen beds in total.
Can you take more than fourteen?
Usually yes, by arrangement. Beyond the fourteen beds we can add about three more on sofas, two rollaway beds and a cot. The walk-in wardrobe off the Master Suite is air conditioned and takes a cot comfortably. Tell us who is coming when you enquire and we will work it out with you.
Is the house shared with other guests?
Never. Villa Takali is let to one party at a time, and the whole estate is yours: 2.5 acres and 65 metres of beach frontage.
What time is check-in and check-out?
Check-in from 3pm and check-out at noon. Early check-in and late check-out are free of charge unless another party is arriving or leaving immediately either side of you and can be confirmed at time of booking.
Is the house air conditioned?
Yes. Every area is air conditioned and has ceiling fans as well.
Do I need to worry about insects or lizards?
No. Insect coils are burnt in the early evening and the rooms are sprayed during turndown, so you sleep undisturbed.
Is there wifi throughout the villa?
Yes, high speed wifi throughout the property, included in your rate.
Is there a music system?
Yes. The main areas have Sonos with an extensive music library. Add the Sonos app to your phone and you can play your own music through the house. Each bedroom has its own music and television system linked to both the music and video libraries.
Is the water safe to drink?
Chilled filtered water is served freely throughout your stay.
Can we bring a pet? Can we smoke?
No pets, and smoking outside only.
Food and Drink
The chef, the bar and how meals are arranged.

What kind of food does the chef cook?
Full top-end resort cooking, and the menu is entirely flexible. It can be changed each day to whatever your group feels like. There are sample menus on the dining page, from breakfast and lunch through to two degustations, a lovo and a bonfire barbecue.
Is food included in the nightly rate?
No. Meals and the chef are charged per person per day, at a set rate for adults and a reduced rate for children. Ask when you enquire and we will confirm the current rates with your dates.
What if we have dietary restrictions?
All of them can be accommodated. Vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, dairy-free and allergies are routine. Once you have booked you can speak to the chef directly about anything he should know.
Is alcohol included? Can we order at the bar?
Non-alcoholic drinks are included in the nightly rate. Alcohol is charged on consumption from a full bar with a barman, and priced far more reasonably than a resort would. There is no facility for cash payment on site, so guests pay a bar deposit at the time of booking and the unused portion is refunded after departure.
Do we have to decide meals in advance?
No, and this is the part guests tend to be surprised by. Nothing is committed before you arrive. You can take three meals a day with canapés and afternoon tea, or dinner only, or a packed lunch for the boat and nothing else. You say what you feel like the night before, and if you would rather eat out one evening, just tell us.
Rates and Booking
What it costs, what sits inside the rate, and how a booking is made.

What does it cost, and what is included?
US$3,500 a night for the whole estate and up to fourteen guests, with all taxes, return airport transfers, staff, laundry, wifi and non-alcoholic drinks included. Meals are charged per person per day on top. Smaller parties, longer stays and quieter months cost less.
Is there a minimum stay?
Three nights.
What is not included?
Meals, which are charged per person per day at a set rate for adults and a reduced rate for children, and alcohol, which is charged on consumption. Everything else you would normally pay extra for at a resort is in the rate.
How do we confirm a booking?
A deposit of ten per cent of the total holds your dates. We send you a short rental agreement to sign and ask for a copy of the passport photo page for each adult in the party. The balance is due ninety days before arrival.
What deposits are there, and are they refundable?
Two, and both come back to you. A bar deposit covers drinks during the stay, since there is no facility for cash payment on site, and the unused portion is refunded after you leave. A separate security deposit is held against damage and returned in full if there is none.
What is the cancellation policy?
It steps down as you get closer to the dates. Cancel at least 180 days before arrival and everything comes back including the initial deposit. At least 90 days, everything comes back apart from the initial deposit. At least 60 days, half. At least 30 days, a quarter. Inside 30 days, nothing. We encourage everyone to take out travel insurance.
How do we pay?
By bank transfer. We will send you the account details with your confirmation. Please ask your bank to apply the transfer charges for both parties so the amount arrives whole.
Getting Here
Airports, transfers and getting about once you arrive.

How far is the villa from the airport, and are transfers included?
Nadi International is about two and a half hours away by road, and return airport transfers are included with your stay. Suva is roughly fifty minutes in the other direction.
Should we hire a car?
Some guests like to, and there is plenty of parking at the villa. Bear in mind that Fiji drives on the left.
Is there a driver available from the villa?
Yes. The staff will arrange transport around the local area for you at minimal cost.
Staff, Service and Security
Who looks after the house, and you, while you are in it.

How secure is the property?
Villa Takali is not part of the Nanuku Resort, but it sits inside the resort’s security gates, so there are guards monitoring every access point to the villa around the clock, including from the beach. There are staff on site at all times and a security safe in every room.
Are the rooms cleaned daily?
Yes, a daily clean plus a turndown service in the early evening.
Is laundry included?
Yes. Washing and ironing of your clothes is included in the rate, along with all linen and towels.
What if someone needs a doctor?
There is a doctor five minutes from the villa.
Can we arrange massages?
Yes. Tell the staff and they will arrange them for you at the house.
Is there mobile coverage?
Yes, coverage is good across the property.
What happens if the power goes out?
There is a generator on site, so it does not interrupt your stay.
